1. 助動詞can的用法

a. 主詞是第三人稱單數時,can的字尾不加s

We can speak and write English. Bill can drive a car.

b. can的後面須接原形動詞(RV)

Mary can ____ a song.  John can ____ a motorcycle.

2. can的否定句,疑問句及簡答

a. 否定句can’t = can not;  也可寫成cannot

Tom can not cook. Tom ____cook.

b. 疑問句的問答

Can you speak good Chinese?  Yes, I can.  No, I can’t.

Can Mr. Li play frisbee?  Yes, he ____.  No, he ____.

3. Chinese    n.    adj.

a. You are a Chinese.  (單數)  n.    You are Chinese.  (複數)  n.

b. The Chinese are a good people.   (指全體中國人)    n.

c. I like Chinese food. (adj.)     He is a Chinese teacher.  (adj.)

4. America & American 的用法

a. They live in ____.

b. Tom is an American.  (單數)    n.    Sue and May are Americans  (複數)

the Chinese  (全體中國人)             the Americans  (全體美國人)

c. Peter has many American friends. (adj.)

5. Why not? 的用法

a. 當[為何不][當然可以]解釋,表示答應對方的請求或邀請

May I eat some fruit, Mother? Why not?

b. 表示建議= How about Ving…….?   = What about Ving…..?

Why not see a movie? à

How about seeing a movie? What about Ving……?

回答用“Yes.”  “OK”  “All right.”

c. 反問別人否定的原因,表示[為何不能]

Mary: I don’t like English.  Tom: Why not?  Mary: Because it’s too hard.

6. enough的位置(可當n. adj. adv.)

a. I have enough. Thank you.  [夠;充分] n.

b. Judy doesn’t have enough time. Judy doesn’t have time enough. (adj.)

c. Your pen is good enough.  She runs fast enough. (adv.)

Bob is old enough to go to school.(adv.)

當adv. 用時,必須放在它所要修飾的adj. 或adv.之後

7. ask [授與動詞]a. [問] b.[要請;請求]

a. I ask you a question.  à  I ask a question ____ you.

b. I asked him ____ buy a pen for me.

8. speak, tell, talk, say的用法

a. Does he speak English?

b. Tell me the time. Father told us a story last night.

I told you to do your homework.

c. Don’t talk in class, students.  We are talking to each other.

d. She said “goodbye” to her friend.  Father said, “Who burned my shirt?”
