1. both 和 all 的用法與位置
a. both 用於指兩者; all 用於只三者或三者以上
b. 位置:
(1) be 之後; 一般動詞前，例: They both go home by car . They are both tall.
(2) 主格代名詞之後，例: They both are good students. They all went there.
(3) 主格代名詞之前，例: Both Mary and Tom are tall.
(4) 主格指示代名詞之後，例: These both are old desks. Those both are good.
(5) 要放在冠詞，所有格，指示形容詞之前，例: A. Both the dogs are Tom’s.
B. All my friends are good. C. Both those boys come from America.
2. both(all) …not 表部分否定
(1) both…not(或not…both)，意為並非兩者都…，相當於only one
(2) all…not(貨not…all)，意為並非全部都…，相當於some…, but some
a. They are not both my friends. à Only one of them is my friend.
b. All (the) students do not study hard. à
Some students study hard, but some (或others) don’t.
3.對等連接詞and, but, or的用法
(1) 句型一致: a. I go to bed early, but my sister goes to bed late.
b. You can watch TV or see a movie. C. Jim can read and write
(2)時態一致: a. Mary went to bed late, but she got up early.
b. Helen is reading and writing.
c. John will go to America and learn English.
(3)詞性一致: a. Tom and John are classmates. b. The bicycle is old and slow.
c. I can read and write Chinese. D. They work hard and fast.
4. and, or, but
(1) and連接語意相近 (2)but連接語意相反或內容相反 (3)or連接有選擇性的字詞
a. We sometimes study with each other and sometimes play together.
b. Tom can spell the word but can’t read it.
I go to work early, but my brother goes to work late.
c. Are you a boy or a girl? I am ____.

5. each與every的用法: each用於兩個中的每一個; every用於三個以上中的每一個
(1) each可當名詞，而every不可當名詞用
a. Each of us has a new bike. b. Each one of us has a new bicycle.
c. Every one of us has a new bicycle.
(2) each one & every one當主詞時取單數動詞，所有格是his
Each one of you has his new book. Every one does his work hard.
(3)兩個主詞由and連接時，而主詞前有every, each, 修飾時，動詞仍用單數
Every boy and (every) girl is happy. Each girl and boy has a name.
